LevelSet Administration

LevelSet

  • Can be administered three times per year. This is done to continually refine our baseline data to keep students at their “just-right” reading level. Levelset is semi-adaptive. It has between 30-40 multiple choice questions. As students either respond correctly or incorrectly, the questions become more or less challenging to determine their appropriate Lexile level.
  • There is a bookmark feature should students need to stop for any reason.
  • This is assigned automatically upon students first logging inLocator Test is presented only to students who are logging into A3K for the very first time. It’s a series of 10 questions that help determine which version of the LevelSet assessment should be used for this student. It’s seamlessly integrated with the actual test, so students complete 10 initial questions (the locator test) and then move right into a version of the actual assessment that’s appropriate for them based on their responses to those first 10 Locator Test items.
  • The actual assessment is 30 items, so the full experience is 40 items (10 Locator + 30 LevelSet).
